CAPABILITIES

Cogeneration | Combined Heat & Power [CHP]

Waste Heat Recovery Boiler at a steel works. This provides energy for a cogeneration plant that supplies power to the site and the national grid.

The utilization of waste heat in industry for the production of steam to generate electricity has grown steadily since the 1970’s. Rising fuel and electricity costs along with increasing concerns about environmental emissions have seen a gradual rise in the number of cogeneration and combined heat & power [CHP] plants globally.

The selection of the most appropriate technology for the site is central in achieving a viable project with sound  financial performance.

Design Boiler has extensive experience in the design of both waste heat boilers & heat recovery steam generators [HRSG] for Cogeneration / Combined Cycle & CHP plants. This together with the capability of evaluating turbine performance enables Design Boiler to assess the thermal and financial viability of Cogeneration/CHP projects. We are also able to critically review the design of steam generators and other related OEM equipment suppliers.
