Boiler Combustion & Emission Optimization

High particulate emissions seen rising from the right hand chimney.

Design Boiler has been addressing poor combustion and emission problems on biomass / wood waste boilers for many years. Often high emissions are a direct result of poor combustion and this that overloads the dust collector by producing an excessively high inlet dust burden.

Apart from failing to meet the increasingly stricter environmental emission limits, high inlet burdens and poor combustion can also contribute to airheater and dust collector fires.

Our advanced combustion technology has effectively addressed poor combustion and high particulate emission issues on many boilers. Design Boiler has the required expertise, computer software and boiler testing resources to investigate and resolve most solid fuel combustion and particulate emissions problems commonly encountered on modern boiler plant.

Case studies that demonstrates our combustion optimization capabilities may be found here and here.

Dark zones on the grate bed can be indicative of a combustion problem.

A retrofitted secondary air system significantly improved combustion and addressed a high particulate emissions problem.
